Thinking and Writing
I started my advertising career as a developer. It was a high-demand area and I had the technical background to break into the industry that way, but my goal was always to be involved earlier in the ideation process. I quickly found that copywriting was more interesting and more fulfilling and I haven't turned back since.
Writing is a lot of fun but lately I've been itching to do more, to actually make things. Luckily, I've been finding plenty of outlets for my excess energy lately. Check out the code portfolio for that end of things.
Capital One Application Redesign
We've just completed a big initiative to improve the Capital One online account opening experience. The new application process is easier to digest with clearer instructions and a whole new voice.

**Suzuki in Times Square

Through Suzuki, we're working with Zoove, a service that provides brands with ** numbers (ours is **Suzuki). We're running a video promotion for the new Suzuki GSX-R750 and GSX-R600 and Zoove liked it so much they put it on their Times Square billboard. Pretty awesome!

Endangered Savers
Capital One wanted to reach out to reach out to the hardworking people who recognize the value of saving for the future and let them know that while their breed may be dying out, they're not alone.
The campaign featured a set of tools to help savers make the most of their hard-earned cash and some fun videos, including man-on-the-street interviews asking what's worth saving for and a pop-up game show featuring Chris Hardwick.
Bloomberg Sports
Bloomberg Sports is seriously the best professional-grade analytics software ever made for fantasy baseball. The folks at Bloomberg took all their knowledge from years as the financial industry's leading analytics programs and worked with Major League Baseball to create something extraordinary and new.
We created a campaign to launch the new product, creating the branding and tone from scratch. It was so exciting to get in on the ground floor of a revolutionary, game-changing new product.

Dos Equis 'Self Defense'
This was the first TV spot I ever wrote (the first one that was actually produced, anyway). I love the community that's formed around the Most Interesting Man in the World. Check out the comments on YouTube.
The Science of a Drive
ExxonMobil is a proud sponsor of the Phil & Amy Michelson Foundation. The foundation helps improve math and science education in schools around the country. I worked closely with the Creative Director on this campaign to design the demos, check the science and even do some of the animations.
